The Opportunity The Department of Parliamentary Services (DPS) is recruiting for a Parliamentary Service Level 4 Collection Management Officer within Design Integrity & Collections Branch. 
DPS are responsible for a wide range of services and facilities, working closely with the Department of the Senate, the Department of the House of Representatives and the Parliamentary Budget Office to support the operations of the Parliament and its Committees.
The Design Integrity and Special Collections (DISC) Unit coordinates consultation on matters that have the potential to affect the design intent of Australian Parliament House (APH), to help ensure changes maintain or enhance the building and its precincts. The DISC Unit also coordinates and catalogues APH records and resources that are integral to the design and construction of APH.
We work with DPS colleagues to ensure that the original design intent of APH is well understood at every stage of design and construction of new building works and maintenance or the introduction of technological changes which may have an impact on APH.
Who we are looking for As a Collection Management Officer, you will work with a small team to build, catalogue and maintain the various collections in the care of the Special Collections unit under Design Integrity and Special Collections.
These collections include, but are not limited to, the APH Archive, the AUSPIC legacy collection, and the Central Reference Document image series. Archival, information management and/or cataloguing experience is highly desirable as you will, under the direction of the Assistant Director, catalogue items in physical and digital formats, undertake collection care programs, and conduct research.
Design Integrity and Special Collections uses the Vernon Content Management System (CMS) for control and management of the archival collection and Fotoware as the digital asset management system, so prior experience with either of these systems would be beneficial.
Job Specific Requirements
• The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected/Restricted) security clearance.

Immediate supervisor: Manager, Special Collections
Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Service Level 4 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Participate in the management of mixed medium print and digital collections. This includes the selection, acquisition, bibliographic control and maintenance of collection items.
  Complete additional research, where required, to enrich descriptive metadata, ensuring efficient retrieval of material in a digital asset management system.
  Respond to routine outward loan and image reproduction requests; generate appropriate documentation and schedules to progress requests and organise the preparation of outward loans including generating standard documentation, coordinating display requirements and organising packing, insurance and transport arrangements where appropriate.
  Participate as required in projects to enhance the digital delivery of products and services.
  Contribute to the continuous improvement of services to ensure the needs of parliamentary clients are met, including projects that align to the section's strategic goals.
  Contribute to client service delivery through liaison with clients, internal staff and external agencies to resolve minor operational issues and provide training and support. Currently, the salary range for this position is $77,719 - $84,450 per annum.
Conditions of Employment Employment opportunities at Department of Parliamentary Services are subject to a range of conditions prescribed in the Parliamentary Service Act 1999 which include:
• Australian citizenship – to be eligible for employment with DPS, applicants must be an Australian Citizen. 
• Security clearance and character clearance – the preferred applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at the level specified, as well as complete and be deemed suitable through a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check. 
• Health assessment – a pre-employment health assessment will be required where there are physical or medical requirements for the role.
