Coin Designer / Sculptor •    APS Level 5 •    Ongoing •    $83,541 - $88,076 •    Tertiary qualification required •    Onsite only •    Full-time position The Coin Designer/Sculptor is responsible for collaborating with multiple stakeholders to conceive and design coins, medals, medallions, tokens and other coined projects for a variety of themes including significant national anniversaries and major events such as the Olympics.
Using traditional and modern sculpting methods along with computer-based modelling, the Coin Designer/Sculptor undertakes projects and participates in the design and delivery of over 300 models a year for collectible coins and numismatic products.
The Coin Designer/Sculptor collaborates with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure designs meet acceptable standards, specifications and deadlines.
The successful applicant is required to work full-time and on-site.
The duties of this position include: Applying design-thinking principals to collaborate with the Product Development and Business Development teams to conceive and design coins, medals, medallions, tokens, and other coined products.
Modelling approved designs using traditional sculpting methods in plasticine and plaster, and computer-based 3D modelling tools such as Carveco and Z-Brush, that meet manufacturing specifications and business requirements.
Following processes and working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders throughout the manufacturing process to ensure the finished designs meet standards, specifications and deadlines.
Qualification This position requires a tertiary qualification in a related artistic field such as design, sculpture or visual arts.
