The Role: We require a skilled Coded Welder at our Olympic Dam facility for fabrication as part of our turn-key products and services within mining, defence and other industries. This role will see you utilise your specialised skills and knowledge to provide quality tradecraft across a range of projects, and work on materials including carbon steel, stainless steel and Duplex steels.

Key Responsibilities: Create quality welded equipment and products. Review detailed isometric drawings and specifications to determine job requirements. Progressively check work for straightness, squareness and alignment with other fittings. Inspect products for any defects and make necessary corrections. Troubleshoot and diagnose solutions to technical problems if encountered. Work in accordance with specified procedures and standards. Provide support with quality management traceability. Work to health, safety and environmental standards. Skills and Qualification Requirements: Positional welding and tank manufacture experience beneficial. Able to pass GTAW and GTAW/FCAW 6GVU weld test to AS 3992/ASMEIX standards. Able to pass weld test to AS/NZS 1554.1. Demonstrated experience in structural and pipe welding. AS 1796 Tickets highly desirable. Able to read and work to detailed Welding Procedure Specification. At MTE we recognise that our people are the driving force behind our success.
