Project Overview:
Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy.
Job Summary:
The Coating Insulation Fireproofing (CIF) Field Engineer will report to the Area Field Engineer, and will be responsible for quality of painting, insulation, and fireproofing.
Major Responsibilities:
Establish insulation, paint, and fireproofing application philosophy.
Track and report installed quantities.
Ensure Coatings, Insulation and Fireproofing construction installation program is compliant with project specifications and applicable codes.
Review and approve permanent plant materials bought for painting, fireproofing, and insulation.
Coordinate paint, insulation, and fireproofing releases.
Review and approve Inspection and Test Plans and verify the completeness of quality documentation on a daily basis.
Other responsibilities as designated.
Education and Experience Requirements:
University/B.S degree in a relevant engineering discipline is desired but may be waived if equivalent industry experience can be demonstrated.
Minimum 10 years, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role of related construction site experience is required in paintings, coatings, fireproofing, and insulation.
A minimum 5 years of experience in LNG cryogenic insulation is required.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Must demonstrate expert understanding of applicable industry codes and standards.
Direct Hire Experience, preferably in a lump-sum environment.
Experience in the design and/or construction of LNG facilities is preferred.
Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs), including TEAMWorks, Infoworks or Aconex, BPS or DSCS, PTR or Unifier, Agile, Navisworks, and other automation tools used on Bechtel projects, is an asset.
Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.
Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.
Additional Information:
This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.
), and work in inclement weather.
Some lifting may be required.
Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e.
respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).
The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e.
cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site.
This position is available to both local and non-local personnel.
For non-locals (FIFO/DIDO), the working roster is 3/1.
