Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in Northwest Queensland and Western Australia.
Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking an experienced Diesel Fitter to assist the Field Maintenance team at our Capcoal Surface Operations.
To be successful in this role you will ensure compliance with all Anglo-American safety and operating systems and a commitment to working together as part of a team to achieve business objectives.

QualificationsYour trade qualification in Diesel fitting, demonstrated experience within an open-cut coal field maintenance environment, solid understanding of the coal mining process and relevant legislation with strong interpersonal skills are essential to the role.
You will possess experience on Field mine site equipment (8750 Bucyrus Dragline, 8050 Marion Dragline, P&H4100 Face Shovel, Hitachi 5500 Excavators, RH340 Excavators, overburden drills).
You will enjoy the challenge of maintaining equipment, diagnosing problems, implementing preventative maintenance and have extensive hydraulic skills.
