Coal Technician - Casual

Job DescriptionSGS is looking for a Coal Technician on a casual basis, to perform timely and quality sampling, preparation, and analysis of samples for internal and external customers.After full training, you will be responsible, but not limited to:Assist with the preventative maintenance of all preparation and laboratory equipment.Ensure accuracy, precision, and traceability of prepared samples.Assist with the calibration of all preparation and laboratory equipment.Follow routine and non-routine sampling instructions.Opportunity to obtain nationally recognized qualification if desired.QualificationsSGS will provide you with full training as required and on-the-job learning, but as the successful candidate, you will also have:Previous experience in a fast-paced, physically active industrial environment.Willingness to learn new tasks.Good attention to detail.Reliability with a strong customer focus.Previous coal sampling and testing experience would be an advantage.Some computer skills in Excel would be beneficial.A valid driver's license and reliable transport are essential.Ability to work in a team environment.Ability to work shifts and meet tight deadlines.
