The PositionOpportunities exist for Coal Quality Testers to fill roles within our team based at Newcastle. These roles will include duties within the Analytical Laboratory. If you have a drive to produce quality results and a strong team spirit, we would like to hear from you.
Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Ensuring that all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner and to agreed standard operating instructionsEnsuring that all work complies with national and international standardsChecking and validating all results to ensure that they are within repeatability tolerancesTransfer validated results into the reporting systemMaintain the laboratory and its equipment according to company standards, including calibrationsA range of analysis including Proximate analysis, Calorific Value, Total Sulfur, Crucible Swelling Number, CHN, Gray King Coke Type, Gieseler, Dilatometer, RD, XRF, IC, ICPMS and othersRequirements:Full training will be provided; however, to be considered for this position, you will have:
A strong focus on safety, quality, and teamworkGood grasp of computers/technologyAbility to multitask and meet tight deadlinesPhysically fit and comfortable with manual handling dutiesEagerness to learn and adapt to new systemsA valid drivers' licence is requiredPrevious coal analysis experience or instrumentation experience (XRF, ICPMS) would be seen as an advantageWillingness to work rotating day, afternoon, or night shifts will be a requirementOngoing drug and alcohol testing will be a requirementAs part of the selection process, a pre-employment medical exam is required, including a drug and alcohol assessment.
