Coal Quality and Logistics SuperintendentWe are currently seeking an experienced Coal Quality and Logistics Superintendent to join our Coal Quality division across our Coppabella Moorvale Joint Venture (CMJV).
Our Coppabella Moorvale mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations producing premium low-volatile pulverised coal (LV-PCI) and SHCC for export markets.
This role is crucial in driving an integral part of the technical services function.
This role monitors, evaluates and improves coal preparation to ensure quality specifications and recovery targets are met, consumable consumption is minimised and operational availability is maximised.
Duties will include: Delivering all aspects of coal quality, blending and site logistics for shipping requirementsWorking closely with corporate logistics and marketing teamsMonitoring and forward planning of coal quality and quantity to enable contract specifications to be met.
This includes maintaining 12 month production and stockpile schedules.Providing supervision to members of the Technical Services and Coal Quality teamLiaising with CHPP Processing Engineer and CHPP Productions teams to deliver production schedulesCoordination of blending requirements where necessary to ensure customers shipments match specificationsMonitoring coal quality as delivered to the customer and follow up on investigations where coal specs have not achieved contract specsProject work to improve coal quality by investigating improvements to our blending and shipping operationsReviewing logistics to optimise delivery optionsAbout you: Experience in open cut mining operations within the coal industryIdeally experienced in a CHPP environmentTertiary qualified in geology / metallurgy / engineering / processing or logisticsProven ability to effectively manage contractors and a teamPossess well-developed communication, negotiating and influencing skills and confidence in your knowledge of project management practicesCommitment to safety as a way of life.About the company: Peabody was founded in 1883 and has grown to be the world's leading pure-play coal company.
