The primary goal for this role will see teachers feeling confident and skilled to support behaviour in their classroom. They will also be able to effectively implement strategies to support student behaviour. Students will have an awareness of the strategies they can use to regulate their behaviour in the classroom.

Key tasks:
Oversee development and facilitate effective implementation of individual behaviour support plans (IBSP) for targeted students identified as substantial, extensive and +, using evidence-based interventions and to respond to what is known about the studentEngage student, parent and teacher voice in IBSP developmentMentor, model, co-teach, collaborate with and provide hands - on support for teachers to implement plans and interventions.Observe and provide feedback for teachers to improve their capability in managing behaviours related to disabilities in the classroom.Seek teacher feedback on support effectiveness and actively measure the impact of support provided.Develop in teachers and TAs an understanding of complex and challenging behaviours presented especially ADHD, ODD and ASDFacilitate professional development on supporting complex and challenging behaviours.Create and promote opportunities for peer observations/watching others work/classroom profiling for Essential Skills of Classroom Management to drive best practise and collegial engagement.Proactively analyse OneSchool behaviour data for students identified under the NCCD to identify teacher support needsAttend and contribute strategies at JS behaviour and SS case management meetings as relevantRefer and liaise with regional and external services as requiredLine manage Behaviour Support TeachersApplicants for these positions must possess: A relevant teaching qualification.  Click here for further information on teaching qualifications. Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland. Pre-service/graduate teachers must have been granted provisional registration prior to commencing employment as a teacher.
