The single most important goal of AMAH is to create an environment that facilitates clinical recovery, supports individual recovery efforts and strives to minimise service system barriers to the recovery process.
Workforce Development and Education AMAH Workforce Development and Education is a dynamic team of interdisciplinary clinicians including lived experience Peers providing training and education to Nursing, Peer Workers and Allied Health staff working in all areas of psychiatry. We work closely with management and staff to support cultural change and personal development using a collaborative approach.
LIVED EXPERIENCE WORKFORCE The Lived Experience Workforce within AMAH is a growing and thriving workforce of designated lived experience roles. These roles include but are not limited to: Directors of Lived/Living Experience, Peer/Carer Program Coordinator, Senior Peer/Carer Support Workers, Consumer Consultants, Carer Consultants, Discovery College Leads and Educators, Peer/Carer Practice Leads and Peer/Carer Support Workers. We work across the Hospital and Emergency, Adult and Older Adult, headspace and Infant, Child & Youth, and Statewide Services including the Women's Mental Health Service and the Residential Eating Disorders Service.
What you'll be doing In this role, you will undertake administrative and educational responsibilities for the delivery of the Peer Cadet Program which will include:
Co-ordination of day-to-day activities Co-facilitation of learning modules Support with discipline supervision & reflective practice Support the co-ordination of consumer peer placement and assessment of job readiness of Peer Cadets through observation of experiential learning within the clinical mental health setting About you Personal lived experience of mental health challenges and a commitment to ongoing recovery Minimum 2-4 years' experience in a designated consumer lived experience role, preferably in clinical mental health settings A passion for the development and education for the lived experience workforce Ability to articulate and demonstrate in your role the guiding principles, values and ethics of peer support work within a mental health environment Australian working rights Full Covid-19 and 2024 Influenza vaccinations Willingness to undergo a Background Check Other benefits Salary Packaging & Novated Leasing through Maxxia Flexible Health Insurance coverage through HCF Health Insurance On-site car & bike parking opportunities, Deducted Pre-Tax Fantastic onsite fitness facilities at The Alfred through ProSport Child Care Services at The Alfred managed by KU Children's Services If this opportunity sounds like it is for you, click the APPLY button, include your resume and cover letter.
