The Opportunity
Substance use in Pregnancy & Parenting Services (SUPPS) is intended to provide substance dependent pregnant women with an appropriate specialist Alcohol & other Drug (AOD) outreach service. This will include a comprehensive assessment, which identifies and supports specific treatments for their drug use. Treatment may include, but not limited to, the appointment of a continuous care manager, counselling, pharmacotherapies and/or relapse prevention strategies.

Most families referred to SUPPS experience multiple challenges which are complex in nature and will require a holistic multidisciplinary approach. SUPPS aims to provide an assertive flexible model targeting the individual family's goals. SUPPS aims to support women and their families to access specialist health services, early intervention services and improve access to community services such as parenting groups, housing.

About You
Do you hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia with relevant post registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area? Do you have demonstrated experience and ability in assessment and management of substance use disorders and management of withdrawal states in pregnant women? Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia with relevant post -registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organization.Demonstrated experience and ability in assessment and management of substance use disorders and management of withdrawal states in pregnant women.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of contemporary opioid substitution treatments and regulation related to opioid treatment programs.Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with others, and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Demonstrated knowledge and ability to mentor and coach nursing staff to enhance professional development.Demonstrated ability in leading and initiating activities to improve service delivery and patient clinical outcomes.Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.Current NSW driver's licence and ability and willingness to travel for work purpose.Need more information?
