Centacare FNQ is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Counsellor to join our dynamic Mental Health and Wellbeing team. The successful applicant will be a Registered Psychologist or Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, with demonstrated significant experience in supporting individuals presenting with Mental Health concerns.
Key Result AreasProfessional Counselling: Deliver counselling sessions that are inclusive, professional, and of the highest quality.Effective Referrals: Ensure clients receive appropriate referrals and pathways that enhance their knowledge and access to services.Accurate Documentation: Maintain timely and precise records and data as per policy and procedures.Feedback Integration: Actively seek, document, and apply feedback from clients and supervisors to improve services.Continued Learning: Stay informed with current evidence-based practices, relevant legislation, and available community resources.Workshops & Seminars: Contribute to or develop high-quality workshops and seminars.Policy Adherence: Follow Centacare's quality system, including all relevant organisational policies and procedures.Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety policies, prioritizing the well-being of yourself and others.Skills & RequirementsEducational Background: Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, or behavioural sciences, or substantial experience and proven ability in counselling.Professional Association Membership: Current or eligibility for membership in a relevant professional body.Practical Expertise: Demonstrated experience with evidence-based practices in:Individual, family, and relationship counselling.Prevention and early intervention services.Child counselling related to family issues.Relationship education services.Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact respectfully and effectively with diverse clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.Referral Skills: Proficiency in referring clients to appropriate internal and external support services.Community Engagement: Ability to network and actively promote counselling services within the community.Technical Skills: Competence with client management systems, including accurate documentation, data collection, case notes, and report writing.Autonomy & Teamwork: Ability to work independently with excellent organisational and time management skills, while being an effective team member.Certifications: Valid Positive Notice Blue Card and Yellow Card Exemption (No Card, No Start laws apply).Background Check: Satisfactory National Police Certificate.License: Current Queensland driver's license.#J-18808-Ljbffr
