About the role: The Cloud Security Engineer is part of a team that will implement and provide ongoing operation of Origin's enterprise Cloud Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP).
Supporting technology teams to address cyber risk within Origin's cloud hosted applications and workloads.
The Cloud Security Engineer will act as SME for cloud security both into Security and across Origin's technology teams.
Assists with development and implementation of Origin's enterprise cloud and API security service (CNAPP) that will uplift Origin Energy's secure cloud and application environment.Working/collaborating with others within the security team to support the ongoing (post-project) operation of the CNAPP capability and cloud security more generally.Collaborates with internal technology teams, developers, and product owners to ensure cloud security findings are addressed.Work with security and business stakeholders to ensure the success and engagement across Origin of the CNAPP service.Ongoing tuning and optimizing of the service to ensure accuracy and currency of findings.Communicate and work effectively with colleagues and customers, understanding key stakeholders by being responsive to their needs and impacts to their business.Assist the project team and stakeholders in adopting and adhering to best practices as aligned to the applicable standards and controls.
What will you bring?
Degree or equivalent experience - IT/software engineering/cyber security.At least 5+ years of experience working in Cloud environments (AWS mandatory/Azure desirable).Strong understanding of cloud security and cloud hardening best practices.Good understanding of AWS IAM, inclusive of being able to understand and write IAM policies.Implementing and managing cloud services and infrastructure through infrastructure as code (IaC); CloudFormation/Terraform/AWS CDK.Understanding of Kubernetes and containers (ECS and EKS).Foundational understanding of vulnerability management concepts and processes.Experience consulting with technology teams to support them in remediating security issues and implementing security best practices.Good communication skills: ability to convey complex concepts.Familiarity with key security concepts, including MITRE ATT&CK/D3FEND, CVSS.
