Our team
The Digital Science Platforms Section within the Enterprise Data and Digital branch is responsible for mission critical cloud and geospatial capabilities, enabling Geoscience Australia to create, process, and deliver its digital science data.
The role
The Cloud Platforms Manager leads a team responsible for delivery of high-value, secure and easy to use cloud platforms and services. This role is not technical and does not require full-stack development or coding.
In this role you will:
Contribute to strategic direction for cloud adoption and usage across Geoscience Australia. Lead the management of cloud platforms operations and support. Facilitate standardised adoption and governance of cloud platforms. Support projects to enhance cloud capabilities. Ensure domain, enterprise and solution architectures are developed. Manage vendor relations and assist with commercial management. Establish governance practices for cloud usage. Manage a team of cloud specialists and build team capability. Manage risks and issues related to cloud operations. Lead a positive culture of value delivery and user engagement. To be successful in the role you will:
Be conversant with contemporary cloud management practices. Be outcomes focused and enjoy leading change. Be a collaborative team member with excellent communication skills. Have experience managing a professional team in a dynamic environment. Effectively manage and communicate the work of your team. Understand the strategic objectives of the organisation. Required skills, knowledge, experience and/or qualifications
Required:
Experience managing cloud platforms in an enterprise context. Experience leading high performing operational teams. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Highly Desirable:
Experience with Azure and/or AWS. Knowledge of contemporary cloud development methodologies. Familiarity with modern delivery approaches and tools. Project management skills or experience. To Apply
