Opportunity snapshot: We are building an Internal Developers Portal (IDP) for enhancing self-serve capabilities, increasing productivity and creating product catalogues with 360-degree product view in a single-pane of glass used by Engineering teams. Cloud Platform DevOps Engineer is crucial in building the IDP, responsible for handling all activities for building, testing and release of IDP, create paved golden paths for developers with Blueprints, shift-left of cloud application environments provisioning, CI/CD and observability with defined security and guardrails for multiple products and maintain robust stable portal for application environments. This will include designing and implementing processes and tools to support continuous integration, delivery, and testing. The Cloud Platform DevOps Engineer will be a proponent for good software engineering standards and practices. The candidate will also review existing processes and make recommendations & implement software process improvements going forward based on SDLC/ALM standards. The candidate will have Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery, Azure, Kubernetes, and SCRUM experience and/or certifications. Your Contribution: Drive continuous improvement in DevOps & Cloud Platform capability ensuring it is always relevant and meets the needs of internal customer groupsDefine best practices for source control, continuous integration, automated testing, and release managementLead large scale implementation of platform and services from inception through to production, maintaining quality documentation and procedures for the ongoing support of the platformBuild and maintain robust stable IDP which improves self-serve capabilities, improves DevEx and improves productivityEnsure repeatable and consistent environments for applications with containers and reduce the overall cloud hosting costsEstablish rapid repeatable deployment patterns with docker images, Helm charts - zero touch no outage deploymentsContainer platform Lifecycle Management including capacity planning, sizing of environments to run in a cost-effective manner, and expiry dates for project environmentsWork collaboratively with delivery teams to achieve success through the adoption of Continuous Delivery and Dev-Ops practices & processesSupport internal IT projects that deliver both strategic and operational improvement to the systemsKeep abreast of industry 'best practice' methods in DevOps, Configuration Management arenaQualifications, training & Experience CI/CD Continuous Integration, Delivery & DevOps experience in – Microsoft Technologies, Azure DevOpsExtensive Experience with MS Azure Platform and RESTful APIsIn depth knowledge of C# and .Net Framework, Strong PowerShell scriptingExperience in deploying PaaS solutions, API's, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to Azure Hands-on experience with Container technology like Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, CaaS, Service Mesh Istio and best practice use from an operations and security perspective.Experience with Platform Engineering and IDP with Port, BackstageExperience designing, building and deploying scalable applications & APIsAutomation for build and release management - automate and streamline operations and processesRelease Management utilizing Azure DevOps/VSTS mandatorySoftware development and Configuration management automation Proven experience in build management & automation on multiple platforms Windows, Unix (Solaris & Linux)Excellent Scripting Skills (PowerShell, Shell and Python)Solid commercial understanding and awarenessDemonstrated success in managing internal stakeholdersExperience with monitoring tools and tuning monitoring and alerting to minimise distributions and be confident of service deliveryWhat's in it for me?
