About the Role The Cloud Engineer is an integral part of Transport Service Operations, focusing on the delivery and management of cloud services in collaboration with diverse delivery teams. This role is pivotal in ensuring these services align with business requirements while adhering to security, governmental, regulatory, and compliance standards.
As a Cloud Engineer, you will offer expert advice, guidance, and recommendations to maintain and enhance the suitability of cloud environments. By working closely with business stakeholders, you will drive the optimisation of services hosted in the Department's public cloud. Additionally, you will actively contribute to the ongoing enhancement of cloud operations, prioritising automation, security, cost efficiency, and innovative practices.
Delivery of High-Quality Cloud Solutions: Collaborated with stakeholders to design and deliver robust cloud solutions aligned with business needs. Managed cloud environments throughout their lifecycle, ensuring scalability, security, performance, and reliability. Leveraged Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools to streamline cloud infrastructure deployment and management.Collaboration with Service Providers: Partnered with managed service providers to implement roadmaps focused on enhancing cloud environments. Prioritised security best practices, compliance with regulatory frameworks, and continual improvement of cloud maturity. Acted as a key liaison to ensure alignment between business goals and service delivery.Optimisation of CI/CD Pipelines: Designed and implemented continuous integration, continuous delivery, and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, adhering to best practices. Focused on automation, reducing manual processes, and improving deployment efficiency and reliability.Driving Scalability, Automation, and Innovation: Integrated scalability and innovation into cloud operations by implementing automation solutions.
