Closure specialists based in WA, I have the role for you!
Involved with the Projects and Closure team, based in Perth, you will be focusing on the development and implementation of mine closure plans and associated duties for renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the creation and execution of mine closure plans/MDCPs for renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, traditional owners, pastoralists, to ensure transparent and effective communication throughout the closure planning process.
Provide strong and effective management of our consultant partners for delivery of MCPS/MDCP.
Oversee all aspects of closure projects, including contracting, budgeting, scheduling, and resource planning, to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
Use your knowledge and experience of environmental and heritage risks and management and closure execution to influence design teams to minimise closure risk and liability.
Be a subject matter expert in regulations and expectations related to mine closure and renewable energy projects, ensuring all activities are fully compliant.
Identify potential risks associated with closure activities and develop robust risk management plans to address them.
Prepare detailed reports and documentation for regulatory submissions, internal reviews, and stakeholder updates.
Lead the continuous improvement of MCPs/MDCPs, tailoring the content to reflect the risks and opportunities associated with Renewable Energy projects.
Required: A commitment to the safety of yourself and your colleagues Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience with at least 3 years in mine closure planning.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously when embedded within a project team.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
In-depth knowledge of Western Australian mining and environmental regulations.
Expert knowledge in closure planning and rehabilitation.
Strong communication skills and demonstrable stakeholder engagement experience Demonstrated ability to influence change, and negotiate resolution of critical issues and challenges internally and externally Desired: Experience with renewable power system projects and linear infrastructure is highly desirable.
Familiarity with rehabilitation planning and execution.
