What you'll be doing




The Clinical Support Officer (CSO) is expected to provide timely and accurate administrative services for members of the health care team on their designated ward/s, under the direction of the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM). The CSO works under broad supervision, however, is also required to work independently. Scope exists for exercising initiative in the application of established work practices and procedures. Decisions affecting the functioning and management of the Ward/s remains the responsibility of the NUM, with the support of the CSO.

Selection Criteria


Excellent communication skills including accurate spelling, good comprehension, confidence in the spoken word and ability to deal confidently and courteously with people at all levels.
Demonstrated experience in word processing, spreadsheet and database software. NSW Health applications including eMR, iPM, Health Roster or equivalent.
Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
Capacity to work under broad supervision and to undertake a diverse range of tasks as an effective member of a team in a high pressure, high volume work environment.
Demonstrated understanding and commitment to confidentiality.
Holds or is willing to undertake a Certificate III in Health Administration or equivalent.
