(subject to review and approval)About the Role: We are inviting suitably qualified Clinical Psychologists to apply to exciting new opportunities at Canberra Health Services.
There are currently two positions available, in either the CHS Gender Service or Canberra Sexual Health Centre.
The CHS Gender Service offers comprehensive, interdisciplinary support for children, young people, adults, and their families navigating gender concerns or gender dysphoria in the ACT and surrounding regions.
With a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach, our highly trained team ensures trans and gender-diverse individuals feel safe, supported, and heard throughout their journey.
Through our Paediatric Gender Service (PGS) and Adult Gender Service (AGS), we foster positive mental health outcomes, reduce stigma, and emphasise the importance of family and peer support.
The Canberra Sexual Health Centre (CSHC), located at the Canberra Hospital campus, offers comprehensive sexual health and HIV care, and hosts the Adult Gender Service (AGS) for individuals aged 16 and over.
Together with the Paediatric Gender Service (PGS), AGS forms the CHS Gender Service, delivering interdisciplinary support for trans and gender-diverse (TGD) individuals and their families across the ACT and surrounding regions.
Our trauma-informed, strengths-based approach prioritises safety, family and peer support, and aims to reduce stigma while enhancing physical and mental health outcomes.
This new Clinical Psychologist role within AGS will provide specialised assessments, counselling, and mental health care, contributing to a multidisciplinary team dedicated to holistic gender-affirming support.

This level is suited to experienced Clinical Psychologists with 3-5 years relevant experience.
Clinical Psychologist (Psychologist Level 3) – Canberra Sexual Health Centre This role at the Canberra Sexual Health Centre will see you provide skilled clinical assessments and interventions for individuals seeking gender care.
You'll exercise your professional judgement, contribute to the development of client programs, and collaborate with external agencies to drive health promotion.
With access to ongoing professional supervision and development, you'll also can participate in research, quality improvement activities, and the evaluation of policies and services, all within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.
This level is suited to experienced Clinical Psychologists with 2-3 years relevant experience.
Clinical Psychologist (Psychologist Level 4) – Canberra Sexual Health Centre In this position, you will play a key role in providing expert clinical care for adolescents and adults with gender concerns.
In this role, you'll assess, diagnose, and manage the mental wellbeing of patients with sexual health conditions.
You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to enhance client outcomes.
This is a great opportunity to contribute to service development, research, and quality improvement in a supportive and inclusive environment dedicated to enhancing the lives of transgender and gender-diverse individuals.
This level is suited to experienced Clinical Psychologists with 3-5 years relevant experience.
