This is a recruitment pool with Permanent Full-Time, Permanent Part-Time, Fixed Term Full-Time and Fixed Term Part-Time opportunities available across CAMHS directorates with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency available. Position Profile and Role The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Western Australia offer support, advice and treatment to children and adolescents from birth to 18 years who are experiencing mental health issues.
CAMHS are seeking to appoint board-approved Clinical Psychologist Registrars who can provide clinical, consultant, education and research psychology service to infants, children, young people, and their families within a multidisciplinary and professional team context, under the supervision of an approved clinical psychologist.
Acute CAMHS - based at Perth Children's Hospital, these specialist services provide recovery-focused programs and services for children from birth until 18 years and their families:
Mental Health Inpatient Unit (Ward 5A) state-wide assessment and treatment facility for children and young people who are 15 years old or under with complex and acute mental health issues.Paediatric Consultation Liaison – provides mental health and wellbeing support for inpatients and outpatients (and their families) who are receiving treatment for physical health issues.Eating Disorders Service – offers a range of outpatient care, day treatment, inpatient care and support groups for children, young people, and their families who are experiencing difficulties in managing their health, in relation to eating and exercise.Gender Diversity Service - The Gender Diversity Service (GDS) is a specialist outpatient service for the assessment and care of children and adolescents experiencing gender diversity issues.Community CAMHS - comprised of 10 community-based outpatient services providing specialist mental health assessment and multidisciplinary intervention for children and young people experiencing significant mental health concerns.

North Region – Clarkson, Warwick, Hillarys, ShentonEast Region - Bentley, Swan (Midland), ArmadaleSouth Region – Peel (Mandurah), Rockingham, FremantleSpecialised Services and Day Programs – based in the hospital and community clinics, these specialist programs support children and young people who have complex mental health needs:
Complex Attention and Hyperactivity Disorder Service - for children and young people experiencing persistent and severe attention difficulties.Multisystemic Therapy - for families with young people (11 to 16 years) experiencing serious behavioural and mental health problems.Pathways - assessment, treatment, and support for young people (6 to 12 years) with complex mental health issues.Touchstone - a day program for young people (12 to 17 years) who are struggling with self-harm behaviours and associated mental illnesses.As a Clinical Psychologist Registrar at CAMHS, you will deliver quality psychological care within our service including the provision of therapeutic interventions and psychological assessments, and participation in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure comprehensive clinical management and intervention planning.
Key Accountabilities: Delivering individual, dyadic, group, community, and hospital-based therapies, including (but not limited to) cognitive behaviour therapy, psychotherapy, and family therapy.Conducting psychological assessments to evaluate cognitive, emotional, behavioural, and family functioning.Providing consultation, advice, and training on psychological matters to colleagues and internal and external stakeholders.Engaging in professional development, supervision towards full registration.Maintaining client records, complying with guidelines for therapy and testing materials, and contributing to performance monitoring and improvement.How to Apply: We welcome your application via the 'Apply for Job' button at the bottom of this page.
