The Opportunity Ramsay is seeking a strategic leader to oversee the end-to-end procurement of medical consumables and prostheses. Reporting to the General Manager of Clinical Procurement, you will develop and implement innovative strategies, build strong supplier relationships, and ensure cost-effective procurement, all while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
What You'll Do Develop and implement strategies for medical consumables and prostheses, including conducting market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.Identify commercial opportunities and efficiencies within procurement activities.Oversee the creation, negotiation, and management of contracts to ensure compliance and alignment with organisational objectives.Engage State Operations Managers and Hospital Executive teams in procurement activities, including the Product Review Process, by gathering feedback to inform buying decisions and enhance procurement effectiveness.Hold accountability for procurement categories and projects from sourcing to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate benefit reporting, monitoring compliance, and taking corrective actions as needed to exceed budgetary targets.Develop collaborative models with business stakeholders, procurement colleagues, and supplier representatives to achieve targeted outcomes.Utilise data analysis to support decision-making and continuous improvement in procurement processes.Work with direct teams and other departments to foster a culture of support and continuous improvement, encouraging open communication, knowledge sharing, and teamwork.What You'll Bring To succeed in this role, you'll bring robust risk management experience, the ability to optimise spend across categories, and a knack for creating value for Ramsay. Key skills and experience you bring to the role include:
Extensive experience in procurement, particularly in medical consumables and prostheses categories.Strong understanding of procurement principles, practices, and regulations.Proven ability to develop and implement effective category strategies.Expertise in conducting market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.Skilled in implementing SRM strategies for continuous improvement and innovation.Expertise in contract creation, negotiation, and management to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.Ability to lead and manage strategic sourcing activities, including tenders and evaluations.Capability to apply a "Total Cost of Ownership" mindset when evaluating procurement opportunities.Tertiary qualifications in a clinical field, commerce/business, or supply chain management.Proficient in SAP or similar ERP systems.Proven track record in governance processes.Experience in project management.About Ramsay Health Care Founded in Australia in 1964, Ramsay Health Care is the nation's largest private hospital operator and a leader in global healthcare excellence.
