About the Role The Clinical Placement Coordinator and Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that students completing post-graduate professional psychology programs at the University of New England (Master of Professional Psychology, Master of Psychology (Clinical) and Doctor of Philosophy (Clinical Psychology)) undertake and complete the range of placements needed to meet course accreditation requirements. This includes coordinating, monitoring and reviewing student placements, and playing an active role in the postgraduate Clinical and Professional Psychology Programs as part of the broader teaching and professional staff team. The Clinical Placement Coordinator and Supervisor also assists in the functions of the UNE Psychology Clinic and provides individual and group clinical supervision to clinical psychology trainees.
About you As the Clinical Placement Coordinator, you will have current general registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia as well as current Area of Practice Endorsement in Clinical Psychology. You are also approved by the Psychology Board of Australia as principal and secondary supervisor for provisional psychologists completing a higher degree program.
You will need to demonstrate your ability to collaborate with members of the Psychology profession and ability to work as part of a team, including liaison, negotiation, conflict resolution and leadership skills. Your current psychology practice and excellent written and verbal communication skills are a key to the success of this role.
