The Opportunity We have a permanent position available for a hospital pharmacist to join our dynamic team at Northern Beaches Hospital, located in Frenchs Forest, Sydney. You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive range of pharmacy services to outpatients and inpatients to ensure the quality use of medicines within the hospital setting. This includes dispensing, drug distribution, manufacturing, clinical pharmacy services, outpatient services, drug information, education and research.

About the Role In this role you will:
Provide efficient clinical pharmacy services to inpatients or outpatients as part of the rotational roster.Conduct pharmaceutical admission and discharge reconciliations, monitor medication outcomes such, as therapeutic drug monitoring, to ensure quality use of medicine is upheld.Work cooperatively and effectively within a multidisciplinary team and provide advice regarding patient care.Mentor and clinically supervise pharmacy students, interns, SHPA/ANZAC foundational residents and other pharmacy team members.Contribute and participate in training and educational sessions for pharmacy, nursing, medical staff and allied health professionals.Support the quality use of medicines by participating in projects, audits, working groups or committees as required.Contribute to our 7-day roster, including flexible hours, on-call service and reduced weekend and public holiday services. About You While we value and support the transition of community Pharmacists into hospital pharmacy, this role is exclusively open to experienced Hospital Pharmacists.
Essential Criteria General registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (AHPRA), with no restrictions on practice.Minimum 1 year Pharmacist experience in an Australian-based Hospital.Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident with ability to work in Australia.Personal Indemnity insurance. Selection Criteria Demonstrated proficiency in clinical drug knowledge, ensuring safe and efficient patient care delivery.Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both written, verbal and interpersonal skills.Proven capability to work collaboratively within a team, while also being able to function independently with minimal supervision to accomplish team objectives.Exhibited skills and experience in managing complex workloads, problem-solving, and initiating and implementing innovative solutions.Demonstrated skills in information technology: using computer applications including dispensing, database management, accessing medicine information and electronic medication charts (eMeds) and electronic health records (EMR).Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and ongoing education in the field of pharmacy. About the Hospital Northern Beaches Hospital is a 488-bed hospital providing care to both public and private patients. The hospital has a 50-bed Emergency Department, 20-bed ICU, 14 operating theatres, 2 cardiac catheter labs, and 4 procedural rooms and provides a comprehensive range of surgical services, critical care and intensive care services. The hospital also has Maternity, Paediatric, General medicine, and Geriatrics, Cardiology, Respiratory, Haematology, Oncology, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Mental Health and Infectious disease services.
About the Team The offices and main dispensary for Epic Pharmacy Northern Beaches are situated in the foyer of the hospital and employ a team of more than 50, including pharmacists, interns, residents and technicians. Our team is split between operational (dispensary, oncology) and clinical services to ensure our patients receive exceptional clinical service across all wards of the hospital. You will report to one of the Clinical Team Leaders (Medical, Surgical or Critical Care), Deputy Director and Director of Pharmacy.
