May Health has an extensive and secure referral base.
Our approach to mental health is thorough and patient, and so our waitlist is considerable.
At May Health, we support our clinician's expertise and facilitate their interests by triaging appropriately by age and presentation.
Most of our service requests are for common mental health complaints (e.g., mood disorders, stress, relationship issues) in addition to those that are less common in private practice (e.g., personality, trauma, eating disorders).
Many referrals are received privately or via the Medicare Better Access Scheme.
To a lesser degree, we service NDIS referrals and other third parties.
May Health is also home to a specialised ADHD service and has a close relationship with the local residential colleges where it provides an in-house service to students.
There are opportunities to participate in these initiatives at May Health.
The Psychology Division at May Health has a position available for a Clinical or Registered Psychologist interested in working therapeutically with adults.
As mentioned, the demand for our services is strong, and so we are interested in attracting a candidate who has an idea of the client population they wish to work with and their own expertise.
It is essential, however, to be able to provide evidence-based interventions for common mental health presentations.
Some interest in working with children and families is valued but not essential.
The position available is a percentage-split contracting arrangement.
This ensures maximum flexibility, allowing you to be in control of your working times.
The preferred location is in-clinic, but please note that May Health also has clinicians who provide exclusive telehealth services, so working from home is an option if this is desired (or a mix of the two).
May Health is interested in both experienced and beginning clinicians.
Professional development in the form of education and board-approved supervisors is provided and available.
Those wanting to gain clinical endorsement are welcome to enquire and apply.
