The Child andAdolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in WesternAustralia offer support, advice and treatment to children andadolescents from birth to 18 years who are experiencing mentalhealth challenges.

Aboutthe Role:
As a Clinical NurseSpecialist, you will lead and enable nursing staff to providecomprehensive and evidence-based nursing care to patients. You willuse your problem-solving, and therapeutic skills to influence,manage, and co-ordinate patient care, as well as provide clinicalleadership and consultancy to other health professionals in thebroader multidisciplinary team. You will lead quality improvementand risk management initiatives and contribute to standards andpolicies.
Whatyou will bring: Preferably 5 or moreyears of experience as a Registered Mental Health Nurse,applicants with differing work and lived experience may also beconsidered. Specialist nursingexperience relevant to the service area of preference (e.g.,Community based services, Acute Inpatient, Outpatient DayProgram). Experience working withchildren and adolescents is also preferred. Demonstrated leadershipability, and able to provide specialised knowledge as aneducation resource to patients, families and other healthprofessionals. Advancedproblem-solving and therapeutic skills that influence, manageand co-ordinate patient care. Registration as aRegistered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia isrequired.

Specialist Services and DayPrograms – The Specialist Services and DayPrograms consists of Complex Attention and HyperactivityDisorder Service, Multisystemic Therapy, Pathways andTouchstone. These programs support children and young peoplewho have complex mental health needs. Acute CAMHS – Acute CAMHS, based atPerth Children's Hospital has a mental health inpatientunit (Ward 5A), Paediatric Psychiatric Inpatient In-Reach Team(PPIRT), Eating Disorder Service and Gender DiversityService.
