The Stoma Specialist Nurse works across the continuum of care including the community, ambulatory, and in-patient services enhancing the continuity and quality of care for patients.The position will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of allied health and medical staff both hospital and community-based providing a point of contact, expert resource, and support relevant to the complexity of care and individual needs of the patient, their family, and carers. The Stoma Specialist Nurse will work with the collegiate support of other specialist nurses in tumour streams at Lifehouse and have the capacity to drive specialist program development, interdisciplinary collaborations, and networks across the health sectors. The Stoma Specialist Nurse will promote and assist in the development of stoma-specific coordinated and evidenced-based, seamless, patient-centred care.Selection Criteria:Registered Nurse with AHPRADemonstrated relevant advanced level of skill in colorectal cancer nursing.Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills in a multidisciplinary context.Ability to work effectively as a team member.Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.Evidence of participation in and commitment to quality improvement and best practice principles.Possess or be working toward Masters of Nursing or similar.Possess or be working towards cancer qualification or graduate certificate in stomal therapy nursing.Patient teaching experience.Recent clinical experience in stomal therapy.To apply please send your CV and Cover letter outlining your key experience as it relates to this role.This is a Category A position.
