#525348 Clinical Nurse Specialist Haematology Outpatient Day Unit Calvary Mater Newcastle Permanent Full-Time (Monday to Friday day shift)Salary Classification: Clinical Nurse Specialist, Grade 2 Yr 1 – Yr 2.Remuneration: $57.11316 to58.98947 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading +salary packaging options + RDO'sTHE ROLE: As a Clinical Nurse Specialist you'll play a pivotal role in providing effective clinical management of the Haematology Outpatients day unit.
The position is responsible for the day-to-day running of the day unit which includes scheduling of patients, management of activity and acuity, specialist coordination of processes and protocols such as the Chronic Transfusion Program, coordination of care, treatments, and associated ordering processes relevant to the role.
To be successful in this role, you'll possess exceptional clinical skills which you will demonstrate through the provision of high-quality patient-centered nursing care.
The right candidate must possess advanced nursing skills, proven strong leadership skills, professional knowledge, and judgment to provide a high standard of assessment, clinical care, and expert advice.
DUTIES: Able to plan appropriate care in consultation with the patient and multidisciplinary team.Timely, complete, and accurate documentation of nursing care and patient's progress is entered into the patient's medical/electronic record and communicated to other team members.Performs comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients.Ensures medical and nursing instructions are correctly performed.Fosters and promotes a multidisciplinary approach to the delivery of patient care within the hospital.Excels in analysis and insight when dealing with complex situations.Prioritises and implements planned care to achieve expected outcomes of established priorities.Able to provide education and information to patients and carers which facilitates their understanding and self-care.ABOUT YOU: Registered Nurse authorised to practice by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).Relevant post-registration qualifications and at least three years' experience working in haematology.
Consideration will be given to applicants who are working towards a relevant post-graduate qualification in haematology.Demonstrated ability to manage the Day Unit's activity and acuity and critical thinking to address problems and apply a range of options to develop solutions.Demonstrated ability to proactively engage with patients/clients to understand their needs, enhance service delivery, and act on conflicting priorities.Demonstrated ability to identify and implement improvements in clinical service delivery, and ability to use databases/IT applications and systems.For further information please contact Linzi Nolan, Nursing Unit Manager Haematology on email: ****** WHY JOIN US?
