The role will be based at Buduwa Step up Step down facility in Burwood. Buduwa Step up Step down offers mental health services that interface between acute mental health units and the community by providing early intervention in a residential setting to consumers with a mental illness living in the community and a transition service for consumers returning to the community from an inpatient stay. The role provides a range of clinical skills and knowledge to consumers with enduring mental health needs who require an enhanced level of support to optimise their overall health and build functional living skills that can assist with maintaining community living. The role promotes collaborative care and support arrangements that provide the most appropriate treatment and support to those who use the service. The role contributes to the development and delivery of recovery-oriented programs in the community, ensuring integrated care and effective partnerships with Non-Government Organisations. The purpose of the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) position is to provide senior nursing clinical leadership in the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery within a nursing unit, team or service. The CNS employs advanced clinical skills and exercises extended autonomy of decision making working closely with managers and other senior clinicians. Ideal Candidate Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation. Demonstrated ability to prioritise and problem solve to manage the complex clinical care needs of patients through the development and use of clinical management plans.
