Exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Department of Health!
The Role: The Clinical Nurse Specialist - ECT role works in conjunction with services under the Mental Health Department (MHD) and Community Mental Health Services to coordinate lists, supporting the high demand for ECT treatments and aid in facilitating safe and high quality treatment as part of the Multidisciplinary team.
You will need: Demonstrated high level skills, knowledge and clinical expertise in Mental Health nursing in the acute setting with preferably at least five years' postgraduate clinical nursing experience.Demonstrated advanced written and oral communication, liaison, interpersonal and counselling skills within a multidisciplinary team environment, including the ability to function confidently and negotiate recommendations for patient care across a wide range of stakeholder groups.Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and documentation, including the Mental Health Act 2013, Right to Information Act, Work Health & Safety legislation, relevant statutory requirements and departmental policies and procedures.Demonstrated ability to problem solve and apply principles of clinical risk management, quality improvement and professional practice to the clinical setting, together with demonstrated motivation to achieve desired outcomes in the clinical setting with limited supervision.Sound and contemporary understanding of a broad range of child and adolescent, adult and older person's community based mental health practice comorbidity supports available in the Southern region or an ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.The Team: The Mental Health Inpatient Unit is located in the Royal Hobart Hospital, level 2 and 3K West. MHIU sits under the Mental Health Department (MHD) within the Statewide Mental Health Services' Acute Care Stream and supports adults with serious mental illness across multiple locations, serving southern Tasmania and those best suited to its services.
Details of appointment: Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $103,466 to $109,165 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
