Clinical Nurse Specialist - Community Mental Health Location: Northam

We are seeking a passionate Clinical Nurse Specialist experienced in Community Mental Health (Child & Adolescent) to work within our Mental Health team in the unique Wheatbelt Region of Western Australia! The location for this position is Northam, however appointments to other hub sites of Narrogin and Merredin may be considered.
About the OPPORTUNITY
In this role you will be responsible for the assessment, planning, case management and delivery of clinical mental health care to complex children and adolescents and their families of the Wheatbelt Region.
Providing specialist clinical, consultant and educational service to clients, carers and primary health care providers.
Key responsibilities include: Conducts primary client assessment and case management of complex child and adolescent mental health clients in the Wheatbelt Health region.Provides expert level of skill in clinical practice.Provides education and support to families and carers of clients with mental illness.Acts as a consultant to referring agencies and mental health community support agencies providing advice, support, strategies and responses to assist with management of mental health clients.Initiates and participates in community development and education for child, adolescent and youth related mental health matters.About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
Recent extensive experience as a practising Community Mental Health Professional with demonstrated expert level skills for assessment, treatment and case management of children, adolescents and their families with mental disorders.Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and ability to work as an independent practitioner.Advanced knowledge and ability to initiate and manage interventions under the Mental Health Act 1996.Demonstrated skills in applying the National Standards for Mental Health Services at the organisational level and in clinical practice.Demonstrated clinical leadership skills including provision of clinical supervision, line management and performance development with supervised staff.Current knowledge of legislative obligations for Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and Work Health and Safety, and how these impact on employment and service delivery.Applicants are to submit: A detailed resume that clearly demonstrates your relevant work experience and achievements; andA cover letter outlining your skills and abilities as they relate to the position and what you will bring to the role.A statement addressing the selection criteria, maximum 3 pages (please see attached JDF).If you experience difficulties while applying online, please contact Employee Services on for immediate assistance during business hours.
