The Clinical Nurse Specialist - Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team (CATT): Works within the designated region in collaboration with other staff within Community Mental Health Services, Inpatient Mental Health Services, Alcohol and Drug Services and a range of community service providers, to deliver improved outcomes for individuals presenting with mental illness, including those presenting to the Emergency Department (ED) North and Northwest. Works within a multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated, assertive case management including triage, crisis, intake and assessment and the development and implementation of care planning for designated clients in both the community and the ED. Is a clinical expert who acts as a clinical resource for staff and other providers involved in the management of patients with mental health concerns, including those with concurrent alcohol or drug use issues. Provides triage, assessment and care planning for community-based consumers including child and adolescents, adults and older persons and people with complex risk presentations. The Team: The Crisis Assessment Treatment team (CATT NW) is a community-based mental health multidisciplinary service that delivers coordinated, assertive case management including triage, crisis, intake and assessment and the development and implementation of care planning for designated clients in both the community and the ED.
Details of appointment: Permanent, full-time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Salary: $103,466 - $109,165 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023. You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum. Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full-time for three years or more, on top of the relocation allowance already available. Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type. Benefits available to eligible candidates: Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees. Professional development and accelerated pathways. Excellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible. Fitness Passport – You, and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family. Minimum Requirements: Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualifications; or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital-based program that led to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada or the United Kingdom.
