Location:The Department of Health is seeking a motivated and suitably experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join their team, located in Burnie.
The Role: Provide discipline-specific clinical expertise, supportive advice, and clinical care across the broader community including in-reach into the ED as required, based on best practice principles and legal and professional requirements, using specialist assessment and screening tools to deliver improved outcomes for patients presenting with mental health concerns and/or addiction-related comorbidities.
You will need: Demonstrated high-level skills, knowledge, and clinical expertise in the area of Mental Health nursing.Demonstrated advanced written and oral communication, liaison, interpersonal, and counselling skills within a multidisciplinary team environment, including the ability to function confidently and negotiate recommendations for patient care across a wide range of stakeholder groups.Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and documentation, including the Mental Health Act, Right to Information Act, Work Health and Safety legislation, relevant statutory requirements, and Agency policies and procedures.The Team: The Crisis Assessment Treatment team (CATT NW) is a community-based mental health multidisciplinary service that delivers coordinated, assertive case management including triage, crisis, intake, assessment, and the development and implementation of care planning for designated clients in both the community and the ED.
Details of appointment: Permanent, full-time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. *Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $103,466 to $109,165 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023.You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum.Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full-time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.Benefits available to eligible candidates: Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees.Professional development and accelerated pathways.Excellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible.Fitness Passport – You, and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family.Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse and possess specialist tertiary graduate or post-graduate mental health/psychiatric nursing qualifications; or completed, prior to the transfer of nurse education to the tertiary sector, an accredited hospital-based program that led to registration as a psychiatric nurse by the relevant nurse regulatory authority within Australia, New Zealand, Canada, or the United Kingdom.
