The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is seeking Clinical Nurse Specialists to join our new Head to Health Kids (H2HK) Tasmania service.
H2HK Tas is an integrated secondary level mental health service for emerging complexity for the 0-12 year age group, representing an important addition to a child and family mental health stepped care model in Tasmania.
Note: This position is also being advertised as an Allied Health Professional-CAMHS (529702), and only one position will be filled on merit.
This position is eligible for a Multi Disciplinary Allowance.
This role will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver secondary level mental health assessment, intervention, and liaison for infants, children, and their families and caregivers experiencing emerging complexity regarding emotional, social, relational, and behavioral functioning.
As part of the Head to Health Kids team, the role will: Support the establishment of the Southern Head to Health Kids Tasmania service.Undertake assessments, care planning, and delivery of individual and group secondary level mental health interventions to children and families, including culturally appropriate services.Develop and support collaborative care partnerships with service providers across primary health, child health and parenting, paediatrics, child safety, education, and early childhood programs and services.Collect and review client and service outcome data and participate in activities to improve client outcomes.Contribute to continuing quality and safety, service development and improvement, and professional development processes and standards.Duties: Ensure the delivery of a comprehensive clinical service through the provision of assessment, case management, and individual therapies, including specialized therapies for children and their families or carers.Develop, monitor and evaluate clinical outcome measures, manage mild to moderate clinical issues, and make recommendations on matters relating to infant and child mental health.Participate in the multi-disciplinary team review of current clients, supporting staff in the development, monitoring, and evaluation of clinical outcome measures.Establish effective collaborative and professional relationships with children and families, the healthcare team, and other stakeholders to optimize outcomes for children and their families.Maintain clinical documentation ensuring appropriate records of assessments, interventions, specialized reports, and maintain NOCC and Occasions of Service data.Note: Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.

Details of appointment: Fixed term full-time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2026.

Salary: $106,570 - $112,440 per annum.
Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023.You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full-time for three years or more, on top of the relocation allowance already available.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.A multi-disciplinary allowance may also apply.Benefits available to eligible candidates: Professional development and accelerated pathways.Excellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible.Fitness Passport – You and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family.Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.Current Working with Children Registration.Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role.
