About the role: As the Women's Health Nurse at Hunter Valley Community Health, you will be providing individualised, case-managed client care and leadership within the community health setting.  Your typical week would include travel to at least two (2) sites to facilitate a Women's Health Clinic. Duties include, but not limited to: cervical screening tests, breast examinations, advice on contraception, continence and other women's health issues, postnatal checks. You will be reviewing results +/- writing a support letter to the GP requesting further investigations/treatment/referral, following up phone calls to clients and organising education sessions If you are a Nurse Immuniser, you have the opportunity to join the School-Based Immunisation Programme at HVCH. You will also have the unique opportunity of providing education to local schools / TAFE / community groups. About you: It is a requirement that the Nurse be Female.  You require effective communication skills providing information to clients, carers, Health staff, GP's and NGO providers.  Where you'll be working: The Hunter Valley Community Health (HVCH) Women's Health Service is based at Muswellbrook Community Health Centre. The service provides to all women with the Upper Hunter region including Muswellbrook, Scone, Denman, Merriwa and Murrurundi.  The Women's Health (WH) Service is staffed by one (1) full-time Clinical Nurse Specialist 2, who is responsible for the provision of clinical and service operational duties. The Nurse organises and manages the Women's Health clinics. Supported by the NUM and WHAM Network It is a large geographical service area with reduced access to resources and female General Practitioners (GP's).   Muswellbrook is located in the rolling vineyards of the world-famous Hunter Valley wine country, where you can taste incredible local produce, take beautiful scenic drives, and discover art galleries featuring acclaimed national works.  Muswellbrook is less than a 3-hour drive from Sydney, and less than 2 hours from Newcastle.
