Your role at St John of God Midland Hospital In this role, you will be working within our Perioperative unit providing a high standard of patient care, acting as a clinical resource and effectively managing resources to deliver quality patient outcomes. This is a dynamic role which encompasses different aspects of the entire patient surgical journey, which is both exciting and extremely rewarding. The Position Supervises nursing practice and takes responsibility for standard of nursing care delivered.Acts as a clinical resource, maintains and develops clinical skills relevant to area of practice.Initiates reviews and coordinates care of patients with complex health problems.Actively contributes to the development of clinical policies and procedures in area of specialty.Ensures documentation meets hospital standards and legal requirements.Is aware of and works in accordance with SGJHC policies and procedures, including Equal Employment Opportunity, Confidentiality and Privacy.Coordinates the department effectively ensuring continuity of care, and takes action on problems encountered.Participates in the performance management of caregivers in conjunction with the Nurse Manager.Supervises the practice of Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Patient Care Assistants.Encourages the development of relationships with all hospital and visiting staff, which promote a harmonious working environment.You will hold registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse with significant and recent post-registration experience and the ability to practice at an advanced level. You will have well-developed leadership skills, including the ability to supervise, give direction and delegate to the team.
To succeed you will have the ability to plan, assess and develop team and individual performance as well as the ability to identify and solve problems including conflict resolution. You will have demonstrated commitment to personal ongoing education and professional development, commitment to nursing and other clinical projects that are implemented to improve patient care and a high level of communication skills. Knowledge of relevant acts, codes and standards relevant to current practice is essential.
Previous scrub scout theatre nursing with extensive orthopaedic experience would be highly regarded. Above all, patient care will be at the core of everything you do committing to and supporting our Mission and Values.
