Townsville Hospital and Health Service are seeking a Clinical Nurse to join the team within Medical Ward 2 in Townsville University Hospital on a fixed term temporary part-time basis, working 72 hours per fortnight. This position is commencing ASAP to 30/06/2025. Medical Ward 2 is one of five medical wards that fall within the Medical Services Group (MSG). It is a 35-bed acute medical ward with specialties of General Medicine, Rheumatology and Endocrinology.

The Clinical Nurse will provide clinical expertise, support and education to nursing staff within Medical Ward Two to ensure the provision of best practice and quality patient care.
The Clinical Nurse provides leadership, support, research, and education within the multidisciplinary team to ensure the provision of best practice and quality patient care in the clinical specialty within a continuum of care framework.
The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following: Comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care at an advanced level within a complex environment.Build and maintain effective relationships with team members, patients and other stakeholders, including participation in relevant networks to achieve work unit outcomes.Provide nursing leadership in the clinical and professional setting including the role modelling of effective communication and problem solving.Use information and reporting systems appropriate to the position in order to achieve outcomes and identify areas for improvement.Provide clinical education and support at an advanced level and demonstrate own professional development.What's on offer: Generous remuneration package value up to $125,326 p.a. comprising:Salary range of $54.44 to $58.30 p.h. Role Requirements: Proof of qualification (Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent), registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.Pre-employment checks will be conducted.Please refer to the Role Description for further details.
