The Princess Alexandra Hospital Dermatology Department is looking for a Clinical Nurse to join their supportive team on a 12 month, temporary basis. The Dermatology Outpatients Unit accepts referrals for outpatient and inpatient services from many avenues and areas for assessment and management of acute and chronic skin conditions for adult patients of all ages. Services performed at the Princess Alexandra Hospital are outpatient, inpatient, general medical and surgical dermatology consults. For surgical assessment and procedures, referrals are received from all over QLD and Northern NSW.

About the RoleThe Clinical Nurse provides advanced clinical knowledge, skills, and competence in Medical and Surgical Dermatology nursing practice and theory, including complex biologics, patch testing (patient education and application), phototherapy, complex wound care, and post-operative care for skin grafts.The Clinical Nurse demonstrates advanced level clinical and problem-solving skills, expert planning and coordination skills in the clinical management and delivery of comprehensive person-centred care.The Clinical Nurse manages day admissions and elective admissions for medical and surgical dermatology patients and coordinates inpatient care within resources to ensure patient safety and quality standards are maintained.Our values of Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Engagement and Excellence, shape our culture within Metro South Health.
