About the role Mater Hospital Brisbane is recruiting for an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Gynae-Oncology Clinical Nurse to join the Ambulatory and Outpatient Department on a fixed term part-time basis, working 32 hrs per week to cover leave for the period 1st January - 26th April 2025.
As a Gynae-Oncology Clinical Nurse, you will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team alongside our Gynae-Oncology CNC. The role will provide coordination support to the Gynae-Oncology team and their patients, including coordination of the Gynae-Oncology outpatient clinic, theatre scheduling, MDT meetings and improvements within the department.

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): Providing specialty specific support and resources to patients & staffClinic coordination for the Gynae-Oncology clinicsLiaising with the Multidisciplinary Team/s between various specialties & sub-specialties to ensure consistent patient outcomesLiaising with the multidisciplinary team and escalating patient concerns when requiredTimely surgical scheduling, support and coordination of multidisciplinary team meetings and patient discussion and planningActively participating in Outpatient and Ambulatory Department Nursing Portfolios – Specialty specific and CSQU Audit ScheduleCollaboration with other health professionals to provide safe patient care and appropriate referrals as identifiedEstablishing priorities for resolution of identified health needs in consultation with the patient or group of patientsAbout you The successful candidate will have:
Current AHPRA registrationAdvanced clinical competency and the ability to maintain the highest standards of nursing practicePrevious 2+ years gynaecology, surgical or oncology nursing experiencePrevious theatre scheduling experience advantageousAbility to work independently and collaboratively with other members of the multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of optimal patient outcomesEffective communication and clinical problem-solving skills to maximise patient careA commitment to the continuous improvement of health care and nursing practiceDemonstrated commitment to professional practice through continuing professional developmentAbility to contribute to departmental research activitiesMater is Queensland's largest and most innovative not-for-profit healthcare service, providing care for almost 700,000 patients a year across a network of 11 hospitals.
