About the role South West Healthcare's (SWH) Mental Health Services (MHS) division provides best practice nursing care for consumers in a recovery oriented model through assessment and clinical planning, in an inpatient 24/7 and community outpatient setting. Collaboratively our service provision is supported by our Mental Health Community teams and the Prevention and Recovery Centre (PARC), providing excellence in care to the broader community in the South West region of Victoria.
As an experienced Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN), these positions work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team to undertake a range of assessments and contribute to the clinical planning of individual care for each client. You will support the development and maintenance of a high quality care environment including promoting and participating in quality improvement activities and initiatives.
This is a fixed term part time (64 hours per fortnight) position commencing in January 2025 until January 2026.
What you bring A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) in Mental Health Nursing.Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing or completion of a Specialist Undergraduate Psychiatric Nursing Program.Proven ability to:Mentor, educate, and train nursing staff.Develop and deliver professional development programs.Collaborate effectively with senior nurses and program managers.Completion of, or willingness to undertake, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.Additional qualifications or experience in education and training (preferred but not essential).Strong verbal and written communication skills.Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and contemporary mental health nursing practices.What we offer You will enjoy benefits such as:
