Your role at St John of God Bunbury Hospital
Practice as a Clinical Nurse using the Scope of Nursing Practice Decision making Framework.
Supervise and direct nursing care of registered and enrolled nurses and staff under delegation.
You will maintain and improve the standard of nursing care, providing clinical expertise and local leadership to ensure that quality patient care is delivered, and the Core Mission and Values of St John of God Healthcare are achieved and upheld.
The Position Provides supervision and act as a resource to other members of the care teamComplies with and demonstrates a positive commitment to relevant legislation including but not limited to:
Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia - Code of Conduct;Poisons Act.Plans, performs, facilitates and evaluates delivery of patient care that is in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.Develops and implements quality improvement and risk management programs at SJGHC Bunbury.
Evaluates outcomes of recommended actions and provides feedback.Maintains advanced clinical skills and specialty knowledge to ensure the delivery of a high standard of patient care.Encourages a multidisciplinary approach for patient care to deliver a seamless journey for patients from hospital to home.Recognises and responds appropriately to unexpected events of rapidly changing situations in the community setting.Develops and provides appropriate health education to patients and significant others and arranges specialised education as required, for the community setting.Assess social needs of the patient and assists in ensuring these needs are addressed through referral to relevant support services.Ensures patient care reflects best practice and is evidence based.Supports the development and implementation policies and procedures to ensure delivery of best practice stomal wound and drain management.
You will hold a current registration with the Nurses and Midwives Board of Australia and have relevant post-registration experience and the ability to practice at an advanced level along with demonstrated experience in the delivery of complex wound care.
You will have knowledge of relevant acts, codes and standards relevant to current practice and demonstrated commitment to personal ongoing education and professional development.
To succeed you will have well-developed leadership skills, including the ability to supervise, give direction and delegate to the team.
You have the skills and ability to plan, assess and develop team and individual performance, along with the ability to identify and solve problems, including conflict resolution.
High level communication skills are also imperative to this position.
A post graduate qualification in stoma care and/or wound care is desirable.
