Clinical Nurse Consultant or Clinical Midwife Consultant - Women's and Children's Services , Queensland Health Mackay Hospital and Health Service provides health services in a range of regional, community and rural settings. The Women's and Children's Services at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Clinical Nurse Consultant or Clinical Midwife Consultant to join their team on a permanent basis.
Your opportunity
The Clinical Nurse Consultant/Clinical Midwife Consultant is an employee who is a registered nurse/registered midwife who:
Is appointed to an advanced practice nursing and/or midwifery position; Demonstrates a specialised clinical expertise and/or specialised skill set; Provides advanced and extended clinical care to clients, using nursing knowledge and skills to support antenatal and postpartum care; Ensures vulnerable and at-risk women have access to quality maternity care, enhancing their experiences of childbearing and associated outcomes for women and infants. About the Team
The Women's and Children's Services stream encompasses inpatient and outpatient care for the Obstetrics & Gynaecology ward and unit, Continuity of Care Midwifery, Paediatrics ward and unit, Sexual Health community services, Child Protective Unit, Child and Youth Family Health and Breast Screen Queensland services. The stream works collaboratively and with a multidisciplinary approach to care for women and children in the Mackay HHS catchment.

Mackay Hospital and Health Service has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff. The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
