The Early Psychosis Service has been established at West Moreton Health to support early detection, timely treatment, care and support for Adolescent and Young Adults (AYA) experiencing First Episode Psychosis (FEP), their families, their carers, and supports.The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) for the Early Psychosis Service (EPS) will deliver specialised clinical services and leadership as a member of a multidisciplinary community mental health team providing assessment, intervention, treatment and recovery planning for adolescents and young adults experiencing First Episode Psychosis.A CNC within the West Moreton Health Service (WMHS) is a registered nurse who is accountable for an advanced level of practice. This role supports the delivery of services by ensuring the coordination of patient centred clinical practice, participating in the provision of skilled nursing care and supporting the multidisciplinary team to meet performance, safety and clinical governance standards.Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:Demonstrated expert level of clinical knowledge, expertise, and skills in contemporary mental health nursing to allow for autonomous practice within the early psychosis setting, including the provision of authoritative advice within a multidisciplinary/multi-specialist team and to primary mental health care providers regarding clinical assessments, care planning, risk management and mental health legislation.Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively within teams, with consumers and their families and with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.Possesses advanced clinical leadership qualities recognised at service level to assess, guide, and contribute to implementation of innovative and evidence based clinical practices.Demonstrated ability to provide leadership as required and to manage quality improvement, service evaluation and research initiatives on a service-wide basis.Understanding of contemporary human resource practices including workplace health and safety, employment equity and anti-discrimination.West Moreton Health is one of the most rapidly evolving health services in the south east corner, with a community growth expected to almost double to more than 588,000 by 2036.
