About the Role
Join our team as a Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) in Palliative and Supportive Care on a Part time (0.6EFT), ongoing capacity at Monash Children's Hospital based at Clayton. This role will work in close conjunction with the Victorian Paediatric Palliative Care Program (VPPCP) team. You will lead the paediatric palliative care team and act as a resource for paediatric oncology nurses, consulting around issues relating to the palliative care of paediatric oncology patients and families. This includes symptom management, community and other supports, decision making and psychosocial support of families. The CNC is also involved in providing education, developing clinical resources and contributing to research and quality initiatives. This role will work closely with the Victorian Palliative Care Program (VPPCP) to care for the palliative paediatric oncology patients and their families.
About Us
The Children's Cancer Centre at Monash Children's Hospital (MCH) cares for approximately 30% of Victoria's childhood cancer patients. The CCC-MCH is also the primary treating team at Monash Health for children who are in and outpatients with haematological conditions. The CCC has an ambulatory care unit that is capable of providing complex cancer care across the disease continuum and admits children with haematological and oncological conditions to the paediatric inpatient units within MCH.
About You
You are an experienced paediatric palliative care nurse with advanced knowledge and skills. Ideally, you have post-graduate qualifications in oncology, palliative care or paediatric nursing, and you have experience managing the needs of complex patients. You lead by example, thrive working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and are truly passionate about delivering a high standard of evidence-based nursing care to all patients. You are an advocate of Monash Health's Strategic Guiding Principles.
