Exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Consultant to join the Department of Health!
The Team: Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania's largest hospital, the General Medicine Team provides general medical care to patients from the admission process through to discharge to a variety of settings.
As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions.

The Role: Clinical Nurse Consultant - General Medicine
You will need: Demonstrated advanced clinical expertise in the care of acute general medical patients and the ability to apply principles of best practice in the clinical setting through the development and implementation of appropriate clinical guidelines.Ability to apply comprehensive knowledge regarding coordination of complex general medical conditions, treatments, and discharge planning for patients admitted to Acute Medical Services.Extensive experience as a Registered Nurse with comprehensive knowledge of legal requirements, including ANMC competencies and codes of practice, and relevant policies that impact upon the delivery of services in the practice setting.Note: Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.
Details of appointment: Permanent, part-time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 48 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata).
Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification typeSalary Packaging: You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
