About the Opportunity We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) for the Sustaining New South Wales Families program, which operates across the South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD), including the Fairfield, Liverpool, and Macarthur LGAs.
In this vital role, you will oversee the implementation of the program, ensuring that recruitment targets and fidelity to the program's standards are met. You will play a key role in the educational development of staff, ensuring that all components of the program are effectively delivered and maintained.
As a CNC, you will collaborate closely with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and work alongside a diverse multidisciplinary team, contributing to the overall success of the program and enhancing the care provided to families in our community.

What You'll be Doing The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) is an expert practitioner who, through leadership facilitates evidence based practice within Child and Family Health Nursing (CFHN). The CNC will promote a service which fosters clinical excellence, research and professional leadership in CFHN. The CNC contributes to quality health care by collaborating with the health care providers and consumer groups, developing clinical practice standards and evaluating their outcomes. The CNC is responsible for providing services which facilitate effective management in CFHN.

Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). At least 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field of Child and Family Health Nursing (CFHN) . In addition, the employee must have approved postgraduate nursing/midwifery qualifications relevant to the field in which the employee is appointed (CFHN) , or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate by the public hospital or public health organisation. Demonstrated evidence of strategies used to maintain current knowledge of clinical practice advances and research in the specialty of Child and Family Health Nursing (CFHN). Demonstrated ability to apply expert knowledge to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of advanced evidenced based nursing care. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment.
