Currently, the unit sits within the General Surgical Department.
General Surgeons currently perform Upper Gastrointestinal, Colonoscopy, and Colorectal surgery within Mackay Hospital and Health Service.
Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD) offers a Telehealth model overseen by Specialist VMOs, and accredited General Surgery consultants also assist with the IBD service.
The service is supported by other Specialist CNCs - Bowel Screen, Endoscopy, and Hepatology nurses who will work closely with the CNC Gastroenterology.About our Hospital and Health ServiceMackay Hospital and Health Service has 6 hospitals, 2 multi-purpose health services, and 4 community health centres that employ more than 3,700 staff.
