ELIGIBILITY:  This position is to be filled from within WA Health via secondment/ fixed term contract or temporary deployment (acting). Current WA Health employees (those employed on a permanent, fixed term contract, casual basis) are eligible to apply. POSITION DETAILS:
This nursing role will assist the development and implementation of the Charm Oncology Management System into the WA Country Health Service across, 8 sites (Albany, Broome, Esperance, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie, Karratha, Narrogin & Northam).
Charm is an Electronic Oncology Management System which will replace existing paper-based processes by providing a single electronic system for the prescribing, clinical checking, scheduling, and administration of systemic anti-cancer treatments across WACHS.
This role will be well supported by the WACHS-wide cancer services team as well as regional cancer service teams and would suit an experienced oncology/haematology nurse looking to further develop project and leadership skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Liaison with regional sites to develop a training plan Provide training and support to regional clinicians and support staff, both on-site and remotely via phone or MS Teams Work with the project team to set up and test the Charm application, ensuring it meets nursing workflow requirements Assist with the review and documentation of current and future business processes, policies and procedures Participate in and facilitate clinical consultation sessions, workshops and project working groups Document system functionality issues and resolving in collaboration with the team Work collaboratively with other project areas, vendors and clinical stakeholders Effectively identify key risks and where applicable, appropriately escalating issues Other ad-hoc duties, as required by the project This role will be primarily based in Perth but will involve travel to regional sites listed above.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Demonstrated significant knowledge, experience and leadership in the areas of haematology and oncology. Demonstrated computer literacy, in particular, competence with office productivity applications Demonstrated well developed interpersonal and communication skills, in particular; Verbal and written skills (required for presentations, meetings, report writing etc.) Effective inter-personal skills with the ability to engage clinicians, build relationships and manage and influence networks across hospitals. Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of six (6) months from the initial recruitment decision.
