Clinical Nurse Consultant BreastScreen NSW Hunter New England - Waratah About the role: The Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 (CNC) plays a crucial role in providing expert clinical advice and compassionate, evidence-based, client-centred care within BreastScreen Hunter New England Local Health District. This position focuses on achieving optimal outcomes for clients in collaboration with patients, families, carers, and the multidisciplinary team. On a daily basis, the CNC leads and manages the Nursing Team, actively participating in the care and counselling of women following BreastScreen assessment clinic results. The CNC also works closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure best practices, develop service strategies, and contribute to policy and procedure development.
In addition, the CNC will lead best practice BreastScreen counselling services across the local health district, with typical working hours from Monday to Friday. The CNC collaborates closely with the Nurse Counsellor Team, as well as Administrative Staff, Sonographers, Radiographers and the Medical Team, including both BreastScreen and Surgical Specialists.
This position encompasses best practices across HNELHD, which may involve visits to Tamworth BreastScreen and participation in state and national BreastScreen meetings including possible overnight stays for travel to other sites within HNELHD as required.

Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade 2 will comply with the five domains of the Clinical Nurse Consultant in NSW health IB2017_002 Clinical Nurse/ Midwifery Consultants – List of Domains and Functions. About you: You will have the ability to provide caring, patient-focused support, along with excellent interpersonal skills and the capability to work effectively within a team environment. A proven track record in leadership and daily management of a clinical team will be viewed favourably. You will have the ability to demonstrate your skill set in alignment with the five domains of practice for a CNC2. Your experience in an oncology setting, along with your counselling skills will be highly regarded. Additional information: An eligibility list will be created for future permanent part time and temporary part time vacancies.
