The Role: Provides clinical nursing leadership in a contemporary acute care practice setting including advanced nursing care within scope of practice.
In collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) undertakes nursing assessments, contributes to planning, and co-ordinates the delivery of services to patients admitted to the AMU.
Develops effective relationships with other service providers across the hospital and within the community to improve services and service access.
Actively incorporates teaching, practice-based research, and quality activities within the role to improve standards of care.

The Team: Acute Medical Unit (AMU) is a 25 bed high acuity unit focusing on Acute Medicine, with a strong multidisciplinary approach to healthcare.
AMU fosters a supportive and inclusive environment to learning, including access to professional and career development, with a strong focus on staff wellbeing and recognition.

The Department of Health Tasmania oversees various hospitals across the state, including the Royal Hobart Hospital, Launceston General Hospital, Northwest Regional Hospital, and Mersey Community Hospital, as well as district hospitals and ambulance services.
Additionally, it provides community health, mental health, and primary healthcare services to the Tasmanian community through more than 300 sites.

Details of appointment: Permanent, part-time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 28 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed date.

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full-time, part-time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $111,506 to $118,336 per annum (pro rata).
Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023.
You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $96,558 - $102,908 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.
Benefits available to eligible candidates: Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees.

Excellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible.

Eligibility: Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
