About us:
Capricornia Offender Health Service (COHS) is responsible for the delivery of health service to Prisoners in the Capricornia Correctional Centre (CCC) and Capricornia Correctional Farm (CCF) including workcamps. COHS provides a health service to a fluctuating population of approximately 1050 male Prisoners within CCC and CCF. The CCC receives and transitions Prisoners on release from and to geographical locations north to Mackay; south to Gladstone, east to Capricorn Coast; and west to Central Highlands.
About the role:
The Clinical Nurse Communicable Disease Control (CN CDC) will work in partnership with the CQ (Central Queensland) Health Blood Borne Virus and Sexual Health Services, Public Health Unit, and the COHS multidisciplinary team to provide assessment, screening, diagnosis, treatment, education, immunisation coordination, health promotion and harm minimisation to the prisoner community at the Capricornia Correctional Centre. The CN CDC will have an identified focus on the at-risk prisoner population whose behaviours or social disadvantages may put them at a greater risk of contracting a communicable/notifiable disease.
About you:
Current registration as a Registered Nurse through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.A relevant postgraduate certificate or postgraduate diploma will be highly regarded. Working towards or completion of the Immunisation Program Nurse course is highly advantageous.What we offer:
